I have played this course a couple of times as part of a society day out. (apologies to members as there was a lot of us!!) Lovely course with a variety of challenges in terms of blind tee shots, blind second shots and cracking greens. Views of the Solway Firth and Galloway Hills give an outstanding backdrop to a memorable and excellent value for money day out. Very friendly and accomodating staff.

This is a fantastic course. After 3 weeks of almost solid rain in the region we were expecting a bit of a quagmire. On the contrary, we found it in superb condition with only the slightest hint, in the shape of one or two puddles to suggest we had even had any rain. In spite of this we were only asked to pay winter fee's of ten pound, even though we played on the regular greens and off regular tee's. Even the full price of £20 is excellent value for this course. Each hole is so different and it's difficult no to feel genuinely excited as you hurry to the next tee to see what awaits you. With it's dog-legs, blind holes and some of the narrowest fairways I've ever seen it was a real challange to a mid handicapper, but if these views cant inspire you to play your best golf then nothing can. I can't wait to play it in Summer.

Played this little gem while on business in the area. Fairly short, but challenging with some great par threes, especially #'s 15 and 16. Kirkcudbright's challenge is the hills and slopes which make the "grip and rip" strategy not the best route. I play to a 10 handicap and fired an 81 from the white tees, 5717 yards, par 69. Eagled #3, and birded #8 so dreams of a low score began to bubble. Unfortunately, a double on 10 and a triple on 14 dashed any hopes of a 70's score that day. A fun, delightful, and challenging experience.
