Lauder Golf Club Player Reports
Harry Macdonell (Scotland) 16/03/04
The sheep are now off. Considerable improvements have been made to Lauder Golf Course as a result of the removal of the sheep and as a committee and playing member of the club I know that all future visitors will enjoy a good days golf at one of the best and most testing 9 hole golf courses in the Scottish Borders.
Andre Gilburn (England) 09/08/01
We played this course as part of a 12 course tour of the Borders. We rated this the 11th best course. It had narrow fairways, punishing rough and some very tricky holes. The major downside was the fact the moor on which the course is situated is covered in sheep. This resulted in some interesting lies and also the use of sheep proof-fencing around the greens. These fences serverely reduced the attractiveness of the course and regular interfered with the game. This could be a great little course in the absence sheep. We won't return here on our next Borders tour.
