Melrose Golf Club Player Reports

Our group played Melrose last week and the course has changed significantly since I last played over 2 years ago! Its a very scenic course and some of the holes are quite challenging. The course was in excellent condition and the putting surfaces were very good! The one complaint I have is there are no par 5's on the course but apart from that its a very nice 9 hole golf course with accommodating staff, a nice club house and a tricky course.

Played here at end of April, what a great 9 Hole course. At first glance from the 1st hole you do not expect much as can be said for the 2nd and 3rd but then on a real joy. Fairways were tree lined, greens and course were in good nick. the 4th and especially the 5th are great holes with fantastic views, a very underated course and one our group are definately going to visit again necxt year, a must play in the borders.

We played this course as part of a 12-course tour of the Borders. We rated this course the 4th best we played and the best 9 hole course. It is an excellent, interesting, undulating parkland course maintained in excellent condition. We were amazed that we were the only people on such a great course. Perhaps the best value course in the Borders. We will definately play this course again when we return on the Freedom of the Fairways Scheme.

Melrose is a 9 hole course and is unlikely to be extended to 18 in the foreseeable future
