I always enjoy playing at Lossiemouth because I know I am in for a true test of golf. If any part of my game is not on song the ‘Old Moray’ course exposes it with ease. On the few occasions I’ve played it the wind blows along the course, which makes the front nine long into the wind and the back a little shorter. In general the course is long, the fairways gorse lined and the greens are slick. I have never played the Old course at St. Andrew’s yet I imagine the course plays in a similar manner. The rolling fairways invite a well-struck shot. You must be aware of the bunkers, some of which are small and deep. The greens are huge and can easily accommodate many a 50-foot putt.

This challenging course will suit the better player. However, I would recommend this course to players of all standards because it plays so well. The facilities are as you might expect, superb. The only thing that could detract from your game is the fighter planes that take off and land at nearby RAF Lossiemouth. I believe the planes do not fly on Sunday. I will certainly play the ‘Old Moray’ next time I visit Scotland.

The old course we played was brilliant this was true links with great holes you remember. You must visit this course if only to test your self on the last hole, this is one of the toughest I have played and it looks good too!!!

We played both courses on a wet, overcast day but found them both to be enjoyable although tiring if you play both on same day. Great setting, true links golf and what a finishing hole on the Old course, as good as you'll get! The hardest thing is trying to block out the aircraft noise but that wouldn't put me off playing again.

In '02, Old Moray was a welcome "last minute addition" to our trip due to the great weather we had during the trip, and our resulting additional zeal to play more golf.

And what a treat it was. While I have read many accounts of this course that mention the RAF Base as a BOGIE, our group felt it was an unusual nuance to be savered and enjoyed...not unlike the sheep on the course at Brora, or the numerous blind shots at Cruden Bay.

We are returning in '03 and everyone placed the course in the same rating as Royal Dornoch, Royal Aberdeen, and Nairn.

Pretty good company, indeed.

I played the "Old" course last week with some friends and it was superb. The course was in excellent condition and there were some fantastic holes. A pity about the aircraft noise. None the less I'll definitely be back !!

I travel to Scotland from Ireland every year with three friends to play golf. This is without doubt the best course we have played.The course is kept in wonderful condition and you get a very warm welcome from the members and staff.

A tremendous links course, with small firm greens and dramatic dunes. The finishing hole is one of the best you'll ever see. The New Course, lying nearby is also worth a mention for its long difficult par 4's and tricky greens.

I played the Moray Golf Club in April of 1998 between rounds at Royal Dornoch, Cruden Bay, Carnoustie and the Old Course at St. Andrews. On two other trips to Scotland, I have played at Muirfield, Turnberry and Machrihanish. After playing all of these great courses, the single best golf hole I have ever seen, is the 18 hole at the Moray. It is simply an awesome hole. The entire course is alot of fun, we played on a Sunday, so the RAF base that sits next to the course was quiet. I would highly urge anyone to play this course.
