Ideal start to our holiday for a bunch of mid/ high handicappers. Pleasant on the eye, in fairly good condition, and not particularly penal, so you could generally get away with a stray shot. We also played when it was only light wind, which helped.

I played Portpatrick with my son (aged 8) on 23 Oct 2006. We had booked a tee time for 1:38 but arrived early and the members and staff couldn't have been more helpful. We hired a buggy (£20)and teed off at 12:30 in glorious weather. It was as though we had our own private course as we hardly saw any other players. The course was in magnificent condition although the greens had just been spiked which made putting difficult. This is a really spectacular course and we were lucky that it wasn't windy. You need to keep out of the rough and the par 5s are tough. The 3rd has a blind approach to a tight green. The 8th, 9th and 10th all offer hopes of a birdie. The signature hole is the 13th which has an elevated tee and a green that seems miles away but is reachable with your tee shot. The view from the tee certainly has the 'wow' factor with the rugged coastline to your left. I've played some good course this year and Portpatrick ranks right up there with the best of them. Can't wait to return to play again.

This is an excellent course to play despite the inevitable wind. Although it is situated on the cliffs it is not too hard on the legs. The course was in immaculate condition (late May). There are a few blind shots to be played so care and common sense is required. The difficult par 5 3rd is a true test; the 10th is an requires an accurate tee shot and the 13th provides a wonderful view and a spectacular drop. It was worth driving 200 miles to play this course.

been and stayed at lagganmore gc 4 times and never played dunskey.highly recommended as greens stick in memory and the views from the 13th but the hole i most liked was the the 10 as all in front of you is gorse and the path you had just gone up and all you can see is the marker and the tops of the houses.had a great round for a high handicap of 28 went round in 94 highly recommend this course to anyone and we will certainly be going back next year.

I played Portpatrick Dunskey in July 2004 as part of a small society. It was a major surprise, very enjoyable with some memorable holes such as 3, 5, 6, and 16. Quite open, fairly short so no too difficult, it was great fun. Very friendly staff and clubhouse atmosphere. On our trip, I enjoyed this much more than Stranraer GC.

Me and my wife played Dunskey course in the beginning of june and we just have one word for it:Lovely!!Beautiful scenery and although not a long course quite demanding due to fast greens and interesting layout.
Also a very nice atmosphere and it is truly a course to be recommended and to return back to many times!
