Pumpherston Golf Club Player Reports
James Cameron (Scotland) 04/07/06
Played June 2006. New holes maturing well. Mixture of young & mature trees 4/5 water hazards about with fair share of fairway/greenside bunkers. Take care on 2nd hole drive. Back 9 more sheltered and established. Greens as good as any in the area. Decent sized practice area and putting green. Friendly Pro and bar staff. meals o.k. and well priced but not a huge choice. Largish & modern clubhouse with good facilities for visitors.

Whilst i am unable to give an unbiased view on Pumpherston Golf Club i would like to mention that in the last three years the course has played host to the Scottish Girls Strokeplay Championship ,the Lothians Matchplay Qualifying, the Scottish Police Championships and the Midlothian County Ladies Midsummer Foursomes. The size of membership has continued to increase as has the number of visiting golf societies many of whom are on their second or third visit.
Why?
This is why:
With striking panoramic views over the Almond Valley, challenging water features on nine holes, fantastic practice facilities and USGA spec greens Pumpherston Golf Club can and does cater for all your golfing needs.

It is a terrible golf course. It was bad before the new holes opened and it is even worse now that they have. Don't play it. Ever.
