Taymouth Castle Golf Course Player Reports

i played the course on monday the 26th May 2008 as part of an outing whereby we were away to play golf in perthshire for three days. i have played taymouth many times before and always enjoyed it. i play of 15 and went round in what was a beautiful but breezy day in 88 and 87 which should really have been a lot better. the scenery is outstanding. i only wish they could sort the clubhouse out. they are now not licensed and unable to serve food although the kenmore hotel is good for food. i know the club is all up in the air due to the castle development but i do feel the course has gotten a tad shabby over the past three years or so and badly in need of freshening up. still well worth the money though and well worth a visit if you are in the perthsire area playing golf.

In the mid 1950s I was a member of this golf club. It was a great course then, and an even better one now.
I had the good fortune to play on a great summers day late July of this year. The course was in excellent condition, the views stunning, and the company first class.
The two of us strolled round in just a few minutes over the TWO HOURS,...... and we were NOT hurrying.
Gavin Dott is the professional now. He is a local man, and he REALLY knows his golf. Both in the playing an teaching departments.
If you are off your game he should be able to put you back on track.
After a session with him I drove the first green, and the seventh. I believe the first time I had ever done that. The golf inbetween was pretty good too.
Definitely a magical place to golf.

What can I say(type) about this course, but WOW! beautiful course, beautiful scenery. I turned up early for my round(2hrs) thought I get some practise before hand, not realising the practise ground was near the entrance. Gentleman in the Pro shop gave me a lift in his buggy, Thank You. made to feel very welcome, Definately play this course again

During my May 2001 golf excursion to Scotland, I had the pleasure of playing a round at Taymouth Castle. It was a fine layout, with spectacular mountain scenery! The castle dominates the view from several holes. Overall- an excellent inland course.

I have played Taymouth Castle GC on a cold winters day as well as the middle of the summer. On both occassions I enjoyed this incredibly scenic course.

I played this course a few years ago now,but thought it was quite beautiful. The view of Loch Tay as you walk through the gap in the trees on hole 7/8 is magic. Good condition when I played it.Well worth a visit
