Before emmigrating to Australia in 1980, I was a member of Tulliallan from 1973/80, during this time Sandy Horne was the Pro. I lived in Castlepark which is very close to the Club and after work and always at the week-ends, you would find me out on the course. I thoughroughly enjoyed playing Tulliallan and would rate it as not only a beautiful scenic course but also a very testing course, which can be very unforgiving if you tend to slice occassionally. The sand traps are expertly positioned, and many are the times when I have had to fish my ball out of the burn which runs across the course. Scotland is indeed fortunate to have golf courses of such a high calibre as Tulliallan. I must be honest and say that I miss playing the course and also miss the many friends and fellow golfers, I became aquainted with whilst playing in the socials and weekly medal comps. I understand that a good friend of mine named Ted Rushford who also lives in Castlepark regularly plays there, if he is still around the Clubhouse tell him the drams are on Jock.

fond regards

John H Christie.

This is a good course, with trouble mostly on he right. Plenty of room, and the scenery is awesome. Burns and views abound. Watch out for Roundall 15th (a.k.a. Coronary Hill by the locals). 17th Davies Green (named after one of the founders Davie Findlay) runs adjacent to the road and could cause a bit of trouble if there is heavy trafic (playing from the road, over the chesnut trees with a 28 tonner bearing down on you, would test even the bravest golfer.) A lovely course which played much easier 40 years ago when I was a boy.

Lovely parkland course built around a hill (a couple of holes might be a bit steep for the elderly) with a burn (stream) coming into play at five holes (two more if you count "duffed" tee shots). Not too difficult but a really enjoyable day out for players of all levels. A pleasant break for tourists tired of being humiliated by the more famous/expensive "championship" courses.
