Westhill Golf Club Player Reports
PK Donaldson (Scotland) 27/08/07
Urban sprawl has not been kind to Westhill. Any previous panorama has been largely replaced by housing developments, industrial estate and retail parks. All this detracts from any sense of escaping to a tranquil oasis that most courses provide.
On a golfing front, the course isn't particularly challenging or stimulating, either, a rare exception being the aforementioned par-3 over a pond. Clubhouse is pretty decent, though, with elevated views over most of the front 9.
If you enjoy playing golf in peoples back gardens, you will love this course. If you want to get away from it all, try elsewhere.

An overall excellant course. Some very challenging holes even for those players with low handicaps. The view surrounding the course is breathtaking. A perfect course for players who wish to have a relaxing round. A must visit!

Westhill is a fantastic course which offers a wide variety of challenges for players of all abilities. Not far from Aberdeen, it represents an excellent outing for any golfer in the area. With panoramic views across Royal Deeside it is a great way to relax and be assured that good golf will be rewarded. Highly recommended!

This is a cracking little course, and great value for money as I recall. I believe I paid œ9 for the round and we had the course to ourselves at three in the afternoon (may 1998). Well laid out and challenging enough for low handicappers to find a bit of trouble here and there. However, wrap up warm because the wind does get up your kilt. The hole featured in any literature is a cross water par three with a tree corridor which is tough but exhilirating when the ball lands on the green. All over, another stirling example of a hidden golf treasure in the home of golf - well worth a visit.
