Ladybank Golf Club Player Reports

Ladybank was the venue for the last moring of our annual MAGI golf tour to Scotland from Matlock GC, now in its sixth year. By tradition, we finish with a prestige course, and Ladybank filled the brief perfectly.
As the ex-pat Scottish organiser I'm always a little concerned that my course selection - based on golfing memories 25+ years old - may prove faulty, but Ladybank was as good as I remembered it. It is very reminiscent of Blairgowie Rosemount with the same feeling of having the place to yourself because it winds through avenues of fir and pine.
Sadly the weather started as persistent drizzle and soon settled into a relentless downpour. But it didn't spoil our enjoyment of a magnificent championship course in perfect condition. The clubhouse and staff welcome visitors and the whole place is well set up to cater for parties.
I'd recomend Ladybank to anyone

A good (but not great) course with some challenging holes. I had expected considerably more given the write ups I had seen so left a little disappointed.
Catering excellent although some staff were unfriendly and perhaps unnecessarily aloof for such a golf club.

Played here in early September 2006. I agree with the previous subscriber. Super condition, good greens, good test of golf. Great finishing hole. Catering and welcom top hole.

James Macintyre (Scotland) 11/05/05
Played this course for the first time in March 05 in tearable weather conditions.
However the layout and conditions are some of the best I have played in an excelent inland course one worth a visit.
Club house and catering facilaties were also very good as was the pro shop.
Well worth the trip from Galsgow I hope to play it in better weather at some later date.

Played then course again in April 2003, previously played in 2000. Accepted a Society of 24 golfers at the last minute, hospitality and food excellent. The course itself was in excellent condition, with the greens in very good condition considering the adverse weathers conditions. The course was thoroughly enjoyed by all, a must play if you are in the area!

Parkland course that is in good condition, but it isnt anything out of the ordinary or special layout wise. I suspect it gets shredded whenever open qualifying comes to town. The pros would have no problem going low. Good condition but nothing to write home about. I felt we wasted a day of our holiday here, we saw nothing we couldnt see back home in Sussex.
