I have played this course on numerous occasions and found it very challenging, i am probably a 14-16 handicapper, the "local neds" as has been put has never been seen on my playing day's, the first is a par 3 ( aye right) very hard (impossible) to reach the green from the tee, but overall a very good course.

The general rule for playing public courses in and around Glasgow is to get there as early as possible.

This will help in avoiding bevvy merchants and scary children.Also try and avoid play when the schools are off.

That aside ... overall I enjoyed this course. The greens were surprisingly good, the fairways were mostly good and the rough was fairer than expected.

The layout is bizarre! But if you view this as quirky rather than problematic then it's fine.

Signposting the tees would help first timers immensely.

There are drainage issues but there can't be a course anywhere in the UK that doesn't have this problem given the amount of rain that's fallen in the last 4 months.

It would be interesting to see how it played if the course was dry and fast and the wind was blowing.

Definitely be back. But EARLY!

We walked off after 9 holes. On the third, the group of lads behind us, swigging beer, were hitting into the green before we cleared.

There was no signage to the next tees and the layout is just weird.

On the 7th tee we were hassled by a group of kids that pestered us to give them balls, tried to take our clubs out of our bags and generally made a nuisance of themselves.

The course was in a pretty ropey condition too.

Yes it's cheap, but this was just awful.

Played the course in early April. Tees and fairways in pretty good shape for a public course, but greens were bumpy. Fairly open course and wide fairways - just a little soggy in the rough. A number holes with elevated tees or greens can make it both challenging and scenic. Big advantage, especially if not familiar with driving in the UK, is easy to get to. Less than ten minutes from Glasgow to Exit 12 on the M8 motorway, then just a 100 yards of so from the highway exit.

great course to play with some difficult holes in particular 1,7,11,and 18.massive improvements in the keeping out of local troublemakers making the experience more enjoyable.
