Woll Golf Course Player Reports
Martin Mulvaney (England) 01/08/06
Woll is still a "young" course and will get better as it matures, though it is still quite a testing course. It is set in superb scenery and a very friendly atmosphere. I would strongly recommend staying in one of the cottages on the course. You would be hard pushed to find better value for money (you virtually play golf for free if you stay on the course), and it is such a relaxing place to stay. Situated between Selkirk & Hawick, it is well positioned for access to other good courses.

We have played 17 Borders courses on the Freedom to Fairways Scheme. We rated this the tenth best course. It is longer than the other 9 hole courses in the area and finishes with two par 5's. Some excellent holes especially the 3rd - a long par downhill par 4 slight dog leg right with the green hidden behind trees. The Woll is named after the burn that meanders through the course including in front of the 6th green. The course will improve with age. We worth a visit and good value at 15 pounds for a day ticket.
