Ballindalloch Castle Golf Course Player Reports
Edward Lowe (England) 03/09/07
I really enjoyed playing this course. It is essentially a nine hole course with 18 tee boxes so it plays like a true 18 hole course. You are greeted by lovely diamond mown fairways that invite a well struck ball. The huge greens were a tad slow but rewarded a well struck putt. The scenery is breathtaking. You will find yourself fumbling in the golf bag for the camera on more than one occasion. This course will suit longer hitters more than the shorter. I believe it can be enjoyed by any standard of player.
There are a few additional points I should make. The steward wasn't there when I played so the honesty box came into operation. Make sure you're armed with the correct change; 9-holes = £15, 18-holes = £20. This is a hilly course so make sure you are prepared with a few Mars Bars and a drink. Finally the last few holes run close to the river avon. Make sure you have some anti-midge cream to hand as they do find golfers quite tasty (as I found to my annoyance!) I will certainly make a visit to this golf course on my next trip to Scotland.
