Golf Almerimar Player Reports
Bryan Armstrong (England) 13/10/07
just played 6 rounds here stayed at almerimar hotel so fees are free, they have changed the course around from the website, its a bit of a walk to the first and back from 18th. the greens are true, receptive and large spoiled only by people who dont repair. 6, 7 and 8th are killers, a good drive on the 6th leaves you with a 9, 8 or 7 close to the water on this par 5 and then hopefully pitch it over with heart in mouth. the 7th is the island green, about 180 yrds straight, left, right or short your in the water with a bunker in front I parred it 1 in 6 times, 8th is a par 4 about 170 yrds over water to reach the fairway. nice course and take your driver and let it rip

Stayed 22 -29th June played 6 days. Course suffers from current changes being made. Back nine most scenic. Couple of interesting water holes at beginning and end. Par threes offered no intersting challenges. Hotel good and I could recommend it more than course itself. Nice walk in places!! Cheap enough.

JULY 18-27TH -PLAYED THIS COURSE A COUPLE OF TIMES
AND FOUND IT TO BE QUITE ENJOYABLE. GREENS ARE VERY RECEPTIVE AND TRUE TI PUT ON,SPOILED ONLY BY PEOPLE NOT REPARING PITCHMARKS.FAIRWAYS ARE A LITTLE PATCHY.NO PROBLEM WITH TEE TIMES APART FROM SAT/SUN MORNINGS.THE COURSE(AND ORGANISATION) HAS PROBABLY IMPROVED SINCE SOME OF THE EARLIER COMMENTS.
ALSO PLAYED PLAYA SERENA WHICH IS VERY GOOD, AND LA ENVIA WHICH IS ALSO QUITE GOOD APART FROM HAVING TINY GREENS.

May 9th to 16th - I must say that after booking this holiday, I read the comments and wondered what I had let myself in for....
Course was in quite reasonable condition, greens were quite quick, just spoiled marginally by people not repairing the pitch marks. Average time to play 18 over seven days was around 4hr 15min. Hotel Melia is ok, but the alternative local retaurants add the choice if you need it.
Just be warned that early tee times mean mosquitos, so make sure you carry some spray.
Overall I would have to say that same time next year is a distinct possibility. Enjoy!

March 7-14 2002, having read earlier comments on this course after I'd booked a week at Melia Golf Hotel I was pretty apprehensive, however the greens were very good, perhaps a little inconsistant. Fairways though were shabby with a fair amount of weed. No problems with tee times, on average a round took 4hrs - 15 mins.
The hotel accomodation was fine. It was a short walk to the harbour restaurants were the food was quite good & reasonably priced. The surrounding area though is very quiet at this time of the year, still I was only there for the golf and having the hotel on the course is a real bonus. Generally I'd recommend Melia Golf Hotel & course.

as the previous message, very poor greens and the organisation was terrible,we finished the back nine then had to wait for 45 minutes to tee off on the next nine. Also be warned if staying at the Melia Hotel on site expect poor food at night, most of it is warmed up left overs from the night before. Also played Playa Serena greens also poor, but do try La Envia it is really good and in brilliant condition.
