Played there 13/11/07 very impressed took 2 hours drive from playa americas but was well worth it, course was in great nick and the clubhouse is one of the most art deco designs you will see.Played many off the courses on the Island for me this is the best.

First played @ BuenaVista Golf two years ago and concluded then that it needed to ‘bed in’ a little as it was difficult to hit off the fairways and get used to the new grass. Anyway, I played it again with my Spanish mate, Andreas, a couple of weeks ago and noticed a big improvement in the condition of the course, but as with all new courses it will still improve further as time goes on.
A Seve designed Course with 6 Par 3’s, 4’s & 5’s. The Course itself is quite undulating with some minor walks between some Greens & ‘T’s. If you are doing 18 Holes, especially for the first time, I would recommend a Buggy (with GPS), as some Fairways are blind. The Course does have a small Driving Range, which was quite useful for a quick warm up.
The Course itself was well manicured and well defined. As this Course is right by the sea, one does have to cope with a lot of wind (albeit warm), which makes it a very tricky course to score well on. Although the grass looked long the Greens were in good condition and all were fast. The Greens varied in size with varying degrees of subtle and large borrows, which were also hard to read with the undulating backgrounds. There are plenty of Bunkers in well strategically placed positions and all were in good condition. A lot of the Fairways are tight with Red markers posts along one or both sides. These markers did not automatically mean a Lateral ‘Water’ Hazard but Lateral ‘Rocks / Cacti / Lizards’ Hazard !!!! However, if you are brave, you will find a lot of lost golf balls if you venture into these areas. There are also a number of holes where the Greens are protected by water, which again made for interesting approaches into the Green.
The Clubhouse is quite impressive and food and drink is not badly priced. The view from the Clubhouse over the Course is quite impressive. The staff were all friendly and welcoming.
Andreas pointed out that a Hotel is being built on site. As they were just digging the Foundations, I would imagine this will be completed in a couple of years. If you fancy a dip after the round there is a fabulous small pool belonging to the Club which is built into the rock to the left of the 16th Fairway over the pathway.
In Conclusion, I agree with the Gentlemen before ….. i.e. if you are in the area, definitely worth a round. Great Course layout with a great variety of Holes, Fairways, Hazards and WIND !! It cost 54 Euros, which is Low Season price, which I thought, is a reasonable price for a round @ BuenaVista { 36 Euros for Buggy with GPS, 84 Euros for High Season …… a bit pricey for me !! }.
The best advice I can offer on this Golf Course is leave the Driver in the bag or better still in the Car !!
