Abergele Golf Club Player Reports

You often drive past Abergele on the A55 without knowing it is there, en route to some of the "better known" Llandudno / Llyn Peninsular courses. Having visited in April 2004 I can recommend that you save yourself some petrol and some time and make sure you stop off to play golf at this superb course. The new greens have had enough compliments here and they speak for themselves but the overall experience of a days golf at Abergele is a memorable one. To try and sum it up is is a visitor friendly club with a well presented course set in a great location. Try it for yourself and see.

Played this course 4/10/03, very windy but dry and the first thing i must say is thanks to the greenkeepers, greens were perfect and very hard to read, some very deceptive borrows, all in all a very good course. Clubhouse also very good showers were such a dream i didn't want to get out, plenty of hot water even at the end of the day. Food was brilliant and more importantly the staff and service excellent. I will certainly be playing here again.

We went to Abergele 18th May for North Wales Boys Championships. The new layout had just been opened the day previous, following the course improvements.
This course is destined to be the best in North Wales. The beauty of the course with its sweeping fairways down from the castle towards the sea, the superb clubhouse and the new greens. Although still of variable speed, the design of the greens was outstanding. Abergele is now a definite place to put on your itinerary when visiting North Wales.

A good golf course which is extremely enjoyable, the middle section can be a little similar, but the course is in good condition and has benefitted from some new greens. This course benefits from a wonderful finishing hole, probably my favourite 18th hole anywhere, a real headscratcher.Give it a go

ONE OF THE FINEST COURSES I HAVE PLAYED IN NORTH WALES.IDEALLY SITUATED OFF THE A55 THIS UNDULATING COURSE PROVIDES EXCELLENT GREENS MANY PROTECTED BY GREENSIDE BUNKERS.SIGNATURE HOLE IS 18TH DRIVING THROUGH NARROW GAP ONTO A SLOPING FAIRWAY LEAVING A DECISION WHETHER OR NOT TO ATTACK THE GREEN WHICH IS PROTECTED IN FRONT BY A STREAM.TEES AND FAIRWAYS ARE ALSO IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND THE STAFF WERE QUITE WELCOMING.
