Tough starting holes heading straight uphill. The course then opens out into a large bowl sitting in the hills overlooking the coast. Nice finishing holes. The 17th must have one of the best views of any golf course anywhere.

Nice traditional clubhouse with veranda outside.

I am currently studying at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and thus have taken the opportunity to play at Aberystwyth Golf Club. It is a fantastic course, with arguably some of the best views you will find anywhere. The course is a real challenge and so keeps you coming back for more. A must visit!

I played on a lovely spring afternoon and the view was superb as was the course, members and staff. I had played seven years previously but I forgot what an excellent challenge the course is. The par 4s are either long and difficult to hit the green in 2 or, if short, tend to demand a very precise shot off the tee or into the green - although perhaps if I were to play again this week I would fancy my chances rather more (some greens are a bit hidden from tee or fairway). The par 3s are also an excellent challenge, the apparently easiest of which - the 16th - is, as mentioned by another user, a very tricky green to hit. Highlights: the views, a lovely clubhouse and the run in from the 14th (inviting short par 4 demanding excellent short iron to green, wonderful par 5 into clubhouse, tricky 16th, 17th that allows good opportunity to pick up birdie - or kick yourself for hitting a rash tee shot - and finally a nice closing par 3).

I've been playing Aber for the past 7 years and it never ceases to amaze me or my veteran partners. I would say to anyone who has never played it before, be careful if you have a good card after the 15th because if the cliff edge does not get your ball on the 17th the chances are the seagulls will.

Good golfing and very highly recommended.

ive arranged for a society of around 8 golfers visiting over the last four years, the course is very demanding, and a real test of your phyisical abilitys, its in exceptional condition with lots of challenges ,the first is a long par 4 to a green at the top of a very steep hill ,difficult in 2 to reach, which starts your round with a bogey or worse, long par 4 second, 3rd is reachable from the tee, although a par 4, but the shot is all uphill, and very tiring to get up to the top of, 4th is very inviting and not overly long, 5th is long but straight forward ,6th is very hard to reach in 2 ,7th is a cracker its a par 3 ,on a raised tee, into the strong wind that always seems to be blowing directly in your face ,very good hit required here, 8th easiest on the course drivable in 1 if you are a big hitter ,9th short par 3 be sure to pick the right club as it is very decieving ,10th well what can i say its a monster, lovely hole ,very long to a green with water in the front and sides ,11thgood tee shot required, then longish iron to a tight small green, 12th flat long and 2 good hits to reach the raised green, 13thtake a good array of clubs up the hill with you as it can vary drastically from rnd to rnd, not long par 3 ,14th iron from the tee, leaves an average type of shot to the very raised green, and if you dont bite the green say goodbye, 15th super par 5 to the clubhouse ,lovely hole to play very inviting, 16th short par 3 but dont be decieved by it, protected front and back by bunkers, tee shot all carry, 17th big hitter can reach if driven well, wind from the right is always a problem, 18th raised tee to a fairly longish par 3 good hit needed here, good finishing hole, course has lots of good features, and the service and quality of the staff are second to none, i would recomend it to all, but its physical
