Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!! This course defines the phrase "hidden gem". I am a member of a decent Middlesex club, but the members of Bull Bay in Angelesy have it all - great draining soil, timeless views (including sea views), a very interestingly designed and well-maintained course without any weak holes, and a really decent professional. I have played many well-known courses in the UK and abroad, including several Open venues, but this one honestly rates in my top 5. Congratulations to the members and management of the club for Bull Bay GC... I am jealous!

This is a physically hard course to play and one which needs to be played twice to get the full benefit as there are a number of blind shots and key positions to be targetted. All aspects of the course were in good condition in early June. Stroke index 1 is a severe challenge in the wind and a par must feel like a birdy but again next time round it may seem a bit easier. Well worth a visit.

Very nice course. Very well kept which is noticeable from the 1st to the 18th. Even Winter sees good course management.
Plenty of room fairways to some tight and blind greens, quite a tricky course but also forgiving to a point!
A variety of scenic views, a very nice place to be and play a round. Will definately be putting some rounds in here 2006!
Played several during Summer and half a dozen during Winter, both seasons give the player a great round.
Quite a good Clubhouse and good food.

Worked in Bangor for 6 weeks and explored the courses of Anglessy while there. So glad I did,Bull Bay is without doubt one of the finest courses I have played.Fantastic fairways and greens, all in great condition.Wonderful layout, had to think about every shot(just the way it should be).Probably a bit tough for beginners but I play off 12 and found it a great test. Will soon be returning with friends to show them the beauty of this course.

Excellent course described as heathland but has a links feel. Alway in beautiful condition and the greens are particularly fine. You have to shoot uphill to many of the greens which requires some good accurate playing. I come up here every year to play this course from Brighton with other friends from Brighton and we agree that it is one of the best courses we have played on. Another bonus is that it is rarely overly busy so you can have a nice relaxing round whilst enjoying the sea views and marvelling at how little it costs compared to the courses in the south of England. Oh yes, I shouldn't forget the friendly professional and clubhouse staff either!

Played here Bank Holiday Weekend Aug 2004. The course is truly a masterpiece and one of the best I have played for a long time. The fairways are kept in immaculate condition, as are the greens. If you are ever in Anglesey make sure that you visit here. The views from the elevated tees are breathtaking. Pleasant clubhouse which offered good food and a great range of drinks.

25 November, 2002. A beautiful Autumnal day, clear skies, wonderful views towards the Irish sea and, to quote a fellow reporter, a "gem" of a golf course.
We may have played off Winter tees, but these have been positioned with consideration so as to not detract from the hole you are playing. The course is short and in wet / damp conditions it is easier to hold the ball on the fairway and greens. But accuracy is still the key, the greens are excellant and if you get on the wrong side you are left with a quick putt to salvage par! I imagine in the summer the links feel really comes to the fore, and because of this I shall return ..... I suggest you do the same.

We played on New Years Day when almost every other course in North Wales was either still covered in snow or waterlogged or on temporaries. This is a real gem of a course - most of us considered it one of the top 5 we had ever played. It was one of the most enjoyable rounds ever with interesting holes over undulating terrain with plenty of very inviting driving holes - especially the 18th, excellent greens of varying shapes and slopes which are open pretty well all year.
Bull Bay is a bit off the beaten track. If it wasn't , it would be very expensive and exclusive ! We payed £10.00 for adults, £5.00 for Juniors on a Bank Holiday ! This area has some great golf. I recommend Bull Bay, Holyhead, Conwy, St Deniol, North Wales and Prestatyn. I haven't played Maesdu yet!

An excellent course with plenty of variety, excellent drainage the course was dry 20 minutes after a downpour If you are after an easy game then drive on by, the holes are all challenging and made even more so by high winds from the sea.The par threes are particularly tricky ,the shortest being 180 off the yellows.
Locals seemed friendly and the catering was good.
£12 for 18 great holes and a meal (this is not society rates)
You must give it a go.
