Great Course, love it! You just have to read below to see why, and what's more since most of these reports were written they have built new changing rooms, and a flood lit driving range. Mind you, you don't go to a course like this for the amenities, you go for the great golf in a truly spectacular location!

We played here as a society in June 2005. It may be high up the mountain but we all walked the 36 holes, which proves that it is not a difficult walk. We had some cloud and sunshine but I would imagine that it could be bleak in bad weather. We found the course a good challenge with a good variety of holes. Greens were in excellent condition. Warm friendly welcome with excellent food. Excellent value for money. So if you are in the area play it, if you are looking for a good society day book.

After playing the course i can confrm that the biggest challenge is the elements. I played in mid June on a greyish day. The course is a few miles out of town but high up, and after the first tee I was in the clouds in a sort of driving drizzle.
Thr first tee sets the scene, being a drive up a mountain, the remainder is, I was told, very scenic. The final hole requires a drive across the valley and public road. All in, very enjoyable.
The club is celebrating 100 years and the new changing rooms are a credit to the club. Food also good value. A round mid week was £21 - again good value.

Played this course on 20th August. It was in splendid condition and all the staff were very friendly. Played the last 7 holes in driving rain I have never experienced before, and this is a testament to the enjoyment the course gave us. Anywhere else and I'd have been in the bar long before the 18th. Can see why one reporter below travels from Sussex to play here. Off the beaten track, so it's not too busy. Fantastic value, 2F1 or no 2F1. A real gem !

Interesting course, in good condition if a trifle rustic. Course planner bought from pro-shop is rather minimalist.

Wow!!Played the course 3 times this year in various open comps & travelled from Sussex to do so!!
'nuff said! Great Course (On a hill but easy walking), Friendly members & bar staff, lovely food& the best greens I have played this year.
Value? £22 for 36holes on the open weekend, I should say so!!!
