Rhondda Golf Club Player Reports

I recently became a member of Rhondda Golf Club and although its winter time the course is still in very good condition and the greens are exceptionally good, very fast. With the course being situated on top of a mountain between the two Rhondda Valleys the scenery is fantastic, however this obvioulsy brings a strong wind into your game. The course offers a challenging round of golf.

Played this course on 29.06.2004, and was surprised at how good it was and how difficult a test of golf. The fairways were in good nick and the greens very slick and fast. Even though the course is situated on a plateau above the valleys it played very much like a links course. The memorable holes for me were the par 3 6th across a revine to a small green about 40 feet below, and the long dog-leg par 4 7th which follows. Overall a very enjoyable, if at times testing, round of golf whihc is highlt recommended - but mind the wind as it can have disastrous effects on club selection!
