This course is absolutely fantastic and is by far one of, if not the best I have played in the UK. The condition of the fairways are immaculate and the greens are quick and true (like carpet). Cannot fault it, and to make the day even better, me and my playing partner Shadrach were "2 down with 4 to play" and won it on the last green. Unlucky Shog & Stalker. Better luck next time.

Myself and a group of seven others played this course a few weeks ago. I can only say that this is the best course i have played in the UK. I have just become a countryside member as it puts my own course to shame and will become a full member in the future. Cannot wait to get out on the course there again. kev and chez you're going down!! Johnny and Shog will have there revenge!!!

I was a member of this club for 3 years to 2002 and always enjoyed it- the turf is superb, the views magnificent, pro, steward and other staff always friendly.
It is not anything like as well known as the seaside courses in North Wales, but well worth a visit- I had a game there on 20 May with 3 friends from Cardiff, none of whom had played it before- all very enthusiastic.

As I have been a member for circa 45 years I must say there are few courses to match this for quality of greenkeeping and scenery. We have recently been awarded a gold medal by HSBC for the condition of the course and the setting. We keep a welcome in the hillsides for golfing gourmets.

Visited the Vale of llangollen GC on 2nd September as part of Hall of Fame regional finals.
I cannot think of a better course that I have played and I have played a good number.
The course condition and presentation was perfect, with the greens being particularly fine.
Although the course is far from easy it is not easy to lose a ball in rough. The scenery is fabulous and I recommend a visit to any discerning golfer of whatever handicap

Played this course with a mate in February 2004 and all I can say I was not disapointed at all. The fairways were first class and the greens were the best I have putted on. Best hole on the course was without doubt the Par 4 SI 1 425yds 9th hole which demands a straight tee shot and a good approch otherwise the river to the left will eat up your ProV1, but there are many good holes and if I could play one course all my life before I die this would be the one.If you are in the area pay the £30 quid you will not regret it I promise

I recently visited the Vale of LLangollen (feb 04)
and will be returning very soon , It ranks amongst the best I've played . I would highly recommend a visit

Played this course last week and the greens were fantastic, true and fast for the time of year. The fairways were dry and firm. It is one of the highlights of my golfing year Llangollen in February. Food afterwards was nothing fancy just good, well prepared and served, ideal. Next visit determined to par the 9th, great hole. The four ball I played with all hit the green on the 18th, quite a feat. By the way its a 6 iron off the tee. See you next year.

Stopped at this course on my travels from Wales to England, I asked if it was possible to play, they directed me to the first tee.Having played at Carnoustie & St. Andrews the previous week I was not expecting to find such a terrific golf course. In the month I spent playing golf in the U.K.this easily ranks as my favorite course.

Fantastic course in superb setting and always in good condition. Where else can you enjoy looking at your drive against a mountain backdrop....before it disappears into the river! Always worth a visit at least once a year. With only 3 par 3's (and one of those is the last)it is a long course, 36 holes here and you are knackered!....I wish they would get some buggies. Some magnificent holes including the first and ninth, either of which are capable of destroying your round, the ninth green can be like crazy golf! Staff and members are extremely welcoming and friendly, many other clubs could learn a thing or two here. Enjoy a breakfast at "Cliffs Cafe" a mile down the A5, on your way, fried bread a speciality!.
David Williams (Wrexham, North Wales) 09/12/01
As a current member of Llangollen golf club, it gives me a great sense of pleasure and pride to see the positive feedback from visiting golfers on this excellent website. I would fully endorse all the comments made and add further that if any visiting parties would like to contact me at my email address and arrange a 'knock' at Llangollen, i would be only too happy to oblige.

An absolutely enjoyable golf experience. If you are in Northern Wales, this course is a must-play. Set in the beautiful Llangollen Valley, there are scenic views from virtually every hole. The staff are very friendly. Don't be fooled by the distance on the finishing hole. Take at least one extra club up the hill.
Martin Cox (England) 11/07/01
Played June 2001. I can only say that this is one of, if not the best courses I have played, excellent condition, perfect setting, holes that will test you, not a difficult walk and a friendly welcome. If you are in the area don't miss out. I wish I lived closer to this course.

I drove by the course on a Friday evening in October 1997, on the way to the North Coast. The sun was breaking through rain clouds on the way to a spectacular sunset. Never saw a valley so green and inviting. Wish I had stopped to stay and play.
