I live in Birmingham and the courses tend be flat and not very hilly. This course is the total opposite of what I usually play. The 14th and the 16th are my favourite holes. The 14th being a daunting drive across a small valley and the 16th a nice easy 9 or pitch wedge out into thin air and then watch the ball drop onto the green about 50 feet (if not more) below the tee!!!
Very interesting course with some nice views over Swansea bay and Mumbles.
huw (wales) 31/07/03
great course!! greens much improved and are as good as any membership only clubs I have played at.holes 3 to 7, although are up and down the same field, are also a great training ground for people who are having any driver problems, but after hole seven, forget training!!Personally, I have failed to score under 10 for the par five ninth, and have played there four times so far. Nearly holed in one on the sixteenth on one memorable occasion (ball hit the flag).thoroughly enjoyed playing here, more municipal courses like this required.

I love playing at Earlswood golf club. It's a challenging course i think. I am not the best at golf. It is a hilly course, but fun.
Big Al (UK) 02/06/01
Actually quite difficult after 7th hole. Holes 3-7 are boring as you tread up and down the same 300 yd wide fairway. Holes 8-18 are great fun though. The drive on the 14th must carry at least 150 yds across holes 11 & 12 below. It is very hilly though, with some treacherous descents if you have a trolley, especially on the 16th which is 149 yds straight downhill- green or gorse.
Dar.woods (s.wales) 22/05/01
very good course.not for the beginner.A lot of long hard holes (i can not reach in 2).there is also a very hard par3 i can not even reach with a wedge i am that good v.g value for money
Ade.M (Wales) 21/05/01
For eight pound a round, you can't go wrong here. Well known localy for it's daunting, par 3, sixteenth called "Bethal's bench". The greens are not perfect but hay, what do you want for eight quid! I always enjoy playing this course as do all my mates.

This course is reasonably tuned out and a challenging round.
It's difficulty belies it's yardage due to the fact that the course is severely underlating.
Lack of bunkers and contours on greens make this course pretty easy when you get within 120 or so yards.
