This is a real gem of a course hidden in the country lanes between Usk and Pontypool. From most holes there are spectacular views across the Landegfedd reservoir with the Brecon Beacons in the distance.
The course is very undulating and really gets the cardio vascular system pumping hard. It is mainly the contours of the course that provide the difficulty, together with mature trees and the odd water hazard.
It is an excellently maintained course, with superb large, cleverly shaped and very challenging, fast greens.
The only criticism I would make is that they could do with updating the showers in the dungeon like changing room.
Overall an excellent golfing experience and exceptional value for money.

Our Society Captains Day 24th July 2004 and no better venue. We have played here before and have been trying to agree a date for a return visit for two years and finally made it.
This is a golfers course. Some excellent long par 4's, mid length par 5's, wicked par 3's and fantastic greens all round. The course is well thought out and beautifully presented and will present a challenge to any standard of golfer.
The welcome from the staff is outstanding making this a must for anyone wanting a superb day out.

Visited this course on 21st June and was most impressed with the place. The greens are to USGA standard (i.e. receptive but very fast!!). The fairways had also beeen kept to a very high standard. The main highlights for me were the steep gradient 5th green- don't ever end up above the hole with your approach; and the idyllic par-3 16th with water on the immediate left of a green which slopes towards the water, a marvellouslt crafted hole. The views at the high point were quite stunning. Highly recommended and excellent value for money.

You need to be fairly fit to play this course but what a pleasure to play. A good challenging course. Nice quick and interesting greens. Excellent layout in superb condition. Would happily play again.

Yep, must agree with previous comments. Well constructed greens and fairways, interesting layout, friendly staff, good value-for-money. Definitely recommended, and a surprisingly short journey from the M4.

This is a stunning course with fantastic scenery.
Greens are of american standard good to pitch to but very quick with big borrows. If you are in the area you MUST play this course.
