Good, enjoyable course. I played Abersoch 4 times in 4 days while family was on the beach and I can say I had only had enough after the fourth round. The links style nine are exceptional (apart from the dubious par four which can be reached with 3 iron of the tee) and hole 5-9 brilliant. The course is in reasonable condition and very enjoyable to play, despite the numerous lost balls. If your in Abersoch have a round, the pro is friendly and despite the questionable parkland 5 holes (which are not as bad as some make them out to be especially the 17th hole) it is a course which is reasonably challenging and in good condition.

We played Abersoch as part of a 5 course tour, taking into account Neffyn, Portmadog, Carenarfon and Harlech. This was the Thursday course and for some of us the second time we had played it. We remembered it as a friendly club, and we were not disappointed by our welcome in the pro shop. the course has been changed round and you now start on the original James Braid links, which are great fun and due to the exceptionally wet weather in fine condition, with the greens being fast and even. Unfortunately after the original 12 you then have to move onto the new course which, when played this way round, is a big disappointment, and almost seems like an afterthought. The holes are bland with a number of par threes sort of `stuck in` to make the numbers up. We enjoyed the day out, but the experience did not live up to our expectations, this was not helped by being ignored for 15 minutes in the club house whilst trying to buy lunch.

Played Abersoch this weekend, and I have to say was hugely impressed! They have changed the course format so that the old 6th is now the first, which means that the opening half of your round is predominantly Links before walking through to the 13th, where you are met with what seems a totally different course! The links side I thought was absolutely awesome! Tight undultating fairways, and then some of the best greens I've ever played! Only dissappointment was the number of par 3's to finish...it goes 3-4-3-4-3 to finish, but all in all a great day, and super value for money!

A year on, and played Abersoch again - this time with a better knowledge of what links golf is all about! The course was again very dry, but the greens (and tees) were excellent. The opening parkland holes are a little disappointing, but treat them as a warm-up for the back 9 - which is where the course really comes alive! All in all it's a good test, particularly with a stiff breeze, and although only a short course it's good holiday golf. Couple that with a warm welcome and relaxed atmosphere, and what more could you want?

Played July 2005. Strange round: hit my lowest score to date (95), yet course was in poor condition! The front 9 were OK, if a little on the dull side; the back 9 (the 'links' holes) were far more interesting, but dry as a bone. Even the greens were a little threadbare. While it gave me a lot of run on the ball, it also made judging shots - and even finding balls - difficult. All in all a good round to play, but considering the green fee was £25 for a weekday it was a little overpriced.

Be warned, the parkland holes are not well-defined and it is easy to lose your ball with a straight hit on the links holes. The course should be better condition.
