Played in The Seniors' Open (12/6/08). Course in excellent condition with not a thing out of place. Well organised competition with 10 minute start times. Greens were excellent but not easy to read. Some spectacular views of the estuary and Great Orme. The 8th hole (a short par 4) is a lovely hole to play - don't be too long off the tee. I would recommend this course - make your day by having a meal after your game to complete a great day. Food and service is second to none.

First of four courses we played over the weekend of the 18-21st April. Maesdu, North Wales, Conwy, and Prestatyn were played. My dad played poorly all weekend, I had moments of success.
Maesdu isn't a links, though doesn't play like a true parkland course either, due to the recent weather played quite long. The wind makes this course really tough, especially a hole into the prevailing wind. The par 3 12th is a really tough short hole. Pace of play was good despite the course being busy. Beautiful views, an enjoyable test, if you are in the area, Id recommend you play the course.
The locker room facilities were the best of all the 4 courses visited.

Very nice welcome at the pro shop, very friendly staff there.
Although the course is close to the sea this is definitly a parkland course. The rough can be really devilish to get out if you even manage to find you ball. Both me and my wife lost a ball on a hole (No.4 I think) where it appeared to be just off the fairway. Greens and fairways in excellent condition. The pleasure was a bit distracted by a player with his son hacking his way around the course.
Good bar but unfortunatly no access for women to the members' locker room

Played here over the May Day Bank Holiday in a Society and the weather was smashing so probably helped in the overall impression of the course.
I found the course very enjoyable as a Parkland with the sea close by so parts felt a bit like a Links, but it wasn't!
Some tight holes and some where you can ope up the shoulders and rip one as well. Up and down as well and some really long rough!!
Quite a few of us lost our balls, but all approved of the course layout and "feel".
A pleasant walk in the sun playing golf!
Clubhouse and members were friendly and welcoming.

What a shame the weather tried to spoil our societys'day at this great course. A howling wind and driving rain for the first 12 holes didn,t help enjoying this beautiful course, but the gods looked down on us and gave some glorious sunshine for the last six.Despite this some very good scores were returned. All this rounded off with a hearty meal.We will have no hesitation returning to Maesdu

This course is very good, the opening hole is a 8 iron par 3, which I thought was a good idea, so that play would be spaced out almost immediatley. The greens are usually very soft, but fast. I have played this course on numerous occasions and not once has it disappointed me. The 8th hole is a gem, take a 5 iron off the tee to lay up short of the trap, then a SW into a well protected green, BEAUTY!! The 12th is FANTASTIC a 170yd uphill par 3, that would probably fit in better on the neibouring links next door at North Wales G.C. But neverless a par 3 of the highest order. The par 5 last is one of the best I have ever played, Elevated tee, tough fairway, O.B. right, yet the green IS reachable in 2!!! Great finish!
Great course!! ENJOY!!
